How to install AnyDesk on Ubuntu 20.04

AnyDesk is a remote server administration tool that provides a remote connection to any computer anywhere. It is available for all platforms such as Linux-based systems, Windows, Mac, and Android. It can be used by individuals, teams, and professional organizations to provide remote support to customers. In addition, it can be useful in online meetings, just like Webex and TeamViewer applications.

Step 1: update Ubuntu system packages

First, update your system package index and enter:

$ sudo apt update

When the update is complete, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Activate the AnyDesk repository

Let’s add the GPG key with a one-liner that downloads and adds the public key.

$ wget -qO - | sudo apt-key add -

Next we add the Anydesk repository:

$  echo "deb all main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/anydesk-stable.list

Step 3: Install AnyDesk on Ubuntu 20.04

Once the repository has been added, update the package lists as shown:

$ sudo apt update

Now, Install AnyDesk with the APT package manager:

$ sudo apt install anydesk

After the installation is complete, use Application Manager to browse AnyDesk as shown.
